Jean Wall Penland has been a part of the art community of Asheville for over 45 years. She is well known for her own style of blending the abstract with subtle reality to speak through her art. Jean has received many honors over her career including the prestigious Adolph & Esther Gottlieb Foundation and Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grants. Her work graces private, public, and corporate collections and has been part of both solo and group exhibitions from her native NC to Oregon to Europe. Her extensive educational background includes bachelors work in Music and Architecture and a Masters in Art.
